The prestige of Unity University as a leading private institution of higher learning was boosted considerably at the end of last academic year when Girma Wolde Giorgis, The President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) personally attended and officiated the 28th Batch Graduation ceremony of the University held at the Tsewa Convention Center, Gerji, on August 27, 2011.

Once again Unity University (UU) is taking the lead in being the first private institution of higher learning in the country to offer undergraduate degree programs in Mining and Civil Engineering beginning the current Ethiopian academic year.

The University standards, curriculum and Quality Assurance Services (USCQAS) of Unity University has conducted two lesson planning workshops at its Addis Ababa Gerji Campus and Adama Special Campus on October 21 and 28 respectively. The workshops were conducted by Ato Teka Wolle the Director of Benchmarking and Standards of USCQAS.
